Shlomo Mintz in a Gala Solo recital, Pianist Sandra Shapiro ” In My Father’s Footsteps – a daughter’s search for answers”.
Also, “From the Romantic to Jazz” and “Dialogue through Music” will be performed by David Ehrlich, Anna Kazepides, violins, Rami Solomonow, viola, Jan Simiz, cello, Michael Kazepides, Double-Bass, Teresa Ehrlich, piano and Nikola Djurica, clarinet.

Event: Monarch Migration through Red Rock State Park

Date: September 23, 2018 – Sunday

Event Description:
Located in the Red Rock Country of Sedona, Oak Creek area
is a flyway for migrating monarchs hurrying to their
overwintering grounds each September.
Many of the beautiful butterflies will
stop and consume
nectar on nearby plants such as sunflowers and golden crownbeard.

All are invited to join the Southwest Monarch Study for an exciting morning
butterfly netting and tagging. This program is an outdoor event so
please be
ready to be outdoors.

Participants should wear sturdy closed-tow
shoes that
can get wet (No sandals) long pants and long sleeve shirts,
hat and
sunscreen. Bring sufficient water for hydration.

Event: Sedona Event: Moonlight Hike at Red Rock State Park

Date: September 24, 2018 – Monday

Event Description:
The Moonlight Hike is among the most popular hikes at
Red Rock
State Park. This hike is led by a naturalist.
The hike gives hikers the rare opportunity to enjoy the
sunset and moonrise from an overlook and return
by the light of the moon.

Hikers will also have an opportunity to learn about Sedona
and its surrounding areas,
Verde Valley and park history,
as well as geology, botany, and
riparian wildlife information.

The hike lasts 2 to 2 1/2 hours and covers a
distance of approximately two miles.

Please note: Rangers ask hikers to please arrive approximately 30 minutes before the starting time to insure participation. Wear suitable clothing,
(prepare for cool nights), bring water, and a flashlight.

A $5.00 program fee is required as well as an entry fee upon arrival
per adult (14 and up) $4.00 per youth (7 – 13)]

Event: Sedona Arts Festival

Saturday, October 13 , 7 pm Opening Reception
A special reception, where each artist will exhibit select works from their home base—creating a diverse opening to the Festival that represents a variety of media and styles, which includes studio and plein air work.
This is your first chance to meet the artists of the 2018 Festival. 

October 13–20 Artists Paint in Sedona Area
Throughout the week, artists will be integrating new work into the Sedona Arts Center’s Special Exhibition Gallery and Theatre Studio. Paintings are available for sale to patrons all week long.

Wednesday, October 17, 10 am Noon Creekside Paint Out at L’Auberge de Sedona. The public is invited to watch artists paint both still and moving water, reflections, sycamores and ducks at this beautiful setting along Oak Creek. Awards and Sale immediately following at L’Auberge de Sedona.

Public Shuttle provided by Red Rock Magic Trolley from 8:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. picking up in the Sedona Arts Center lower parking lot and shuttling to and from nearby L’Auberge Resort.

The public is invited to beautiful Seven Canyons to watch artists paint the afternoon and evening light as it carves out the red rock profiles. Artists will explore panoramic vistas from the Clubhouse, driving range, and views from beautiful Rachel’s Knoll. Red Rock Magic Trolley will provide shuttle service between all the painting venues. Awards Ceremony and a reception on the event lawn will commence at 4:00 p.m.

October 19, 5 to 8 pm Plein Air Party and Awards Presentation
Held at Sedona Arts Center’s Special Exhibition Gallery and Theatre Studio in the Historic Art Barn. Fine wine, fine hors d’oeuvre and fine art.

This is the ‘big event’ artist’s awards are presented throughout the evening recognizing the best work created during the week including Best of Show and merit awards by Festival Judge Josh Been, Artist’s Choice Award, Collectors Choice by ballot and Sedona Arts Center Awards.

October 20, 10am–Noon Main Street Paint Out
The final paint-out of the festival is held in collaboration with the City of Sedona and is the last chance for visitors and residents to become acquainted with the artists and observe them in action. Artists will paint in Uptown Sedona on 89A from the Arts Center to Pink Jeep Café. Sale and awards at the Arts Center immediately following, then join us for a free cook-out outside the plein air galleries. Final event sales from Noon – 2pm

It is pumpkin patch fun time again. You are invited to bring your bathing suit and enjoy the Pumpkin Splash in Sedona. The Sedona Community Pool will be home to pumpkins ready for the picking… Out of the water that is! This is fun for all ages. There will be some classic activities and some new games for children on the pool deck for playing and competing.

Everyone entering the pool facility, adults and children alike, must pay a $5 admission fee. The fee of $5 includes a pumpkin to take home.

Event: Red Rocks Oktoberfest

Date: October 20, 2018

The Festival Gates will open at 4pm. We’ll be ready for loads of craft beer fans right away. Brewers will be pouring their finest for just $3 – there will be a few food trucks with tasty vittles and we’ll have Polka Katzen from Flagstaff on from 4-6 and then Sedona’s own Naughty Bits will take the stage at 6pm.

This festive event is produced by and benefits the Rotary Club of Sedona Red Rocks. This is a local charitable organization whose purpose is to demonstrate “Service Above Self.” Besides the benefits for the Rotary Club of Sedona Red Rocks, our Oktoberfest will support many other local causes within the local community.

Event: The Lighting of 6,000 Luminarias – Festival of Lights

Date: December 8, 2018

Event Description:
The Festival of Lights includes a schedule of lively musical entertainment,
a visit from Santa, and free cider. The River of Life Tabernacle Choir will be performing.
At the tolling of the bell tower at 5:00pm, the lighting of 6,000 luminarias gets underway in Tlaquepaque’s courtyards and walkways.
This grand tradition of the Festival of Lights began 45 years ago and is a highly anticipated holiday event in Sedona.

Event: Holiday Sweet Stroll Event at Tlaquepaque

Event Description:
Parking at the Sedona Cultural Park –
Saturday, February 2, 2019.

Thanks to the Sedona Chamber of Commerce, and it’s member organizations, we are able to offer a FREE shuttle service for the event. The shuttle service is scheduled to run from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on race day, Saturday February 2. Pick-up locations are finalized, and the drop off will be at the intersection of Bristlecone and Navoti Drives just south (and a short walk) of the race venue.

Parking for athletes and spectators will be available at the Sedona Cultural Park, and the Sedona High School. To avoid traffic, consider carpooling or using the convenient shuttle for the drop-off located at the corners of Navoti Drive and Bristlecone Pine. Expect delays, so plan accordingly for your race start. Allow lots of time to park, and walk to the start/finish area.

The walk from the Cultural Park or the High School is approximately 15 minutes.

Start/Finish line is located on Navoti Drive between Bristlecone and S. Foothills Drive; behind the Sedona Medical Center; 3700 West State Route 89A; Sedona, AZ 86336

For our local residents, the course travels on SR89A to Dry Creek Road from Sedona to Boynton Canyon Road (FS 152C) and then to Boynton Pass Road (FS 152C) and returns the same route. Throughout most of the morning hours and into the late afternoon there will be signs indicating that runners are on the roadway.

The Sedona Marathon Event is a
